Anthony Marcos Rea is a Queer multi-disciplinary Artist, Photographer, and Educator from Kansas City's Westside neighborhood with a footing in Chicago and familial connections throughout southern Kansas exploring what he describes as a specific Midwest Latino narrative. His work includes drawings, photographs, and site-specific projects around themes of personal histories, Queer identities, memory, and narratives examining notions of place and belonging. Central to Rea's practice is his commitment to being a teaching artist who collaborates with youth and families in creating their own stories of place and identity. Anthony holds a BFA from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago and has exhibited between Kansas City & Chicago. After returning to Kansas City in 2015, Anthony continues his work in youth development at the Mattie Rhodes Center. He is a founding member of Brown Voices/Brown Pulse in Kansas City and is a 2016 & 2025 Rocket Grant recipient from the Charlotte Street Foundation.
